During the pandemic my mum moved home in the UK whilst I looked on from my lighthouse in Bergen. Living abroad in Norway led me to make this short film which looks at dialect, regional belonging and asks how we leave behind unwanted emotional baggage.

Featuring slide photos of my mum’s abstract paintings and close-ups of children’s books from the 1970s, The Archive is Present is both a celebration and critique of my chaotic family photo collection in the age of smartphones and cloud storage.
