{"id":36,"date":"2021-01-26T10:40:48","date_gmt":"2021-01-26T10:40:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/robcarter.org\/?page_id=36"},"modified":"2025-03-21T14:46:17","modified_gmt":"2025-03-21T14:46:17","slug":"auto-italia-live","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/robcarter.org\/index.php\/auto-italia-live\/","title":{"rendered":"Auto Italia LIVE"},"content":{"rendered":"<section  class='av_textblock_section av-m83h4k4d-bb48d8acab53e511955fb0f22a6415b1 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><h3>Auto Italia LIVE<br \/>\nArtist-run TV series<br \/>\nAuto Italia, Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, 2011-12<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/section>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-m83h6vrr-f167aa0a5f3248c8b5cfe19ee0167e6e '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>A series of web based, artist-led television shows produced in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/autoitaliasoutheast.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/autoitaliasoutheast.org\/\">Auto Italia<\/a>, Lucky PDF and Lorenzo Tebano.<\/p>\n<p><em>Produced collaboratively by artists,\u00a0Auto Italia LIVE\u00a0aimed to reclaim a space within the television format that has increasingly lost its experimental aspect. The project drew from figures including Nam June Paik that dealt with the risk taking inherent in live TV, Warhol TV bringing a community of artists together and Jef Cornelis in terms of his pioneering productions for Belgium Television in particular shows such as\u00a0\u2018Container\u2019. Questioning the demise of risk taking in mainstream cultural programming within the history of British Television, the project\u00a0aimed to provoke discussion and challenge how artists might work together to create new work, examining how dialogues are negotiated and tested within this unique context.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Between 2010-2012 I worked with artist Lorenzo Tebano to write and produce content which was broadcast over three separate episodes. Our contribution to this massive group project included the forming of an improv band live on air, the disembowelment of life size Rupert Murdoch effigy (preluding the 2011 News Corporation Scandals) and the performance of a live music video.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\"
